Workshop Themes
The Integrated Assessment Society (TIAS) and the Global Water System Project (GWSP) announce a joint workshop May 9-11, 2007 back-to-back with the International Water Association's
WATERMATEX 2007: the 7th International Symposium on Systems Analysis and Integrated Assessment in Water Management.
TIAS and GWSP have organized one joint day (May 9) with the IWA. Topics include:

Uncertainty analysis

Integrating global assessments at the local and regional scales
The themes of the subsequent two-day workshop (May 10 and 11) include:

Global environmental assessments

The role of models in policy processes
-
Linking global assessments to policy
-
Preparing high-quality, policy-relevant assessments
-
Bridging the science-policy gap
-
Disciplinary and professional collaboration
-
Representing phenomena across scales
-
Appropriate resolutions for analyzing natural and social phenomena
Call for Session Proposals
Session proposals of 400-800 words were invited describing work in progress relevant to the themes of the workshop (see 'Workshop Themes'). Sessions will be approximately 1.5 - 1.75 hours in length allowing time for 3-4 presentations, and subsequent discussion.
The central aim is the sharing and consolidation of new research ideas and fostering future co-operations in the area of global assessments.
Submissions will be screened by the program committee. Those selected may present their work on emerging topics and facilitate a dialogue among session participants.
Proposals include:

Theme of session and topics to be covered with an indication of how these relate to the overall workshop theme

Goals and expected outcomes of the session

Presentations, main discussion points, and conclusions will be compiled and published in Workshop Proceedings. Individual papers are not being sought per se. However, papers may be requested from willing individuals or teams presenting on the joint IWA-TIAS day (Weds. 9 May).
